More Than Just a Dealership: How Swickard is Growing with the Alaska Community
At Swickard Auto Group, we believe that "local" isn’t just about where our buildings are—it’s about where our hearts are. Our teams live, work, and raise their families right here in Alaska. That’s why, when we think about our impact across Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley over the last few years, we don’t just see numbers; we see our neighbors.
A Tradition of Looking Out for One Another
"Alaska’s communities have a strong tradition of looking out for one another, and we’re honored to be part of that," says Jeff Swickard, our CEO. For us, showing up means more than just providing a service. It means supporting the nonprofits, animal rescues, and essential workers who keep the engine of our community running every single day.Safety First, Family Always
One of our favorite ways to connect is through our community-facing safety initiatives. Recently, Swickard GMC Palmer hosted family-focused events designed to make our roads safer for everyone. Through partnerships like Safe Kids Alaska, we’ve been able to provide parents and young drivers with the resources and practical tips they need to stay protected. For us, there is nothing more important than ensuring our neighbors get home safely.Celebrating Our Local Heroes
We know that the real magic of Alaska happens through the people who go above and beyond. Through our Nominate a Hero initiative, we’ve had the privilege of highlighting individuals who lead with kindness and courage.Whether it’s supporting the Bubble Bash, participating in The Clothesline Project, or collaborating with the Anchorage Police Department and SWAT teams, we are committed to standing alongside leaders like Jon Butler and many others who show up for Alaska when it matters most.
Investing in the Future
Community support is a long-term commitment. In 2024 and 2025 alone, our Alaska dealerships have contributed over $60,000 through sponsorships, local events, and direct donations to nonprofit partners. While we are proud of that number, we are even prouder of the relationships behind it. From advancing family well-being to supporting local youth, we are here to stay, and we are here to help.
What truly sets our efforts apart is the way these initiatives are shaped by the voices of the community itself. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, our teams actively listen to local families, educators, and community leaders to understand where support is needed most. This feedback-driven mindset allows us to create programs and partnerships that are not only meaningful, but also sustainable.
Whether it’s identifying gaps in youth programming, supporting overwhelmed shelters, or responding to emerging safety concerns, we aim to be responsive and proactive. Our employees regularly volunteer their time, not because it’s required, but because they genuinely care about the wellbeing of their neighbors.
That authenticity is what transforms simple acts of service into lasting relationships. It also reinforces a culture within Swickard Auto Group where community engagement isn’t an obligation—it’s a shared value. By staying closely connected to the people we serve, we ensure that our impact continues to evolve alongside the needs of Alaska’s communities, creating a stronger, more resilient foundation for everyone.
Equally important is the role that partnership plays in amplifying our impact. We recognize that meaningful change doesn’t happen in isolation, which is why we prioritize collaboration with organizations that bring unique expertise and perspective to the table.
By working alongside nonprofits, schools, and local agencies, we’re able to extend our reach and deepen our contributions in ways that wouldn’t be possible alone. These partnerships allow us to combine resources, share knowledge, and align efforts toward common goals, whether that’s improving public safety, supporting families in crisis, or creating opportunities for young people.
Over time, these collaborations have grown into trusted relationships built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to service. They also enable us to respond more effectively during times of urgent need, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most without delay. In this way, our role becomes not just that of a supporter, but of a connector—bringing people and organizations together to strengthen the entire community's ecosystem.
Looking ahead, our commitment to Alaska remains as strong as ever. We understand that community building is not a short-term effort, but an ongoing journey that requires consistency, care, and a willingness to adapt. As the needs of Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley continue to evolve, so too will our approach to giving back.
We are exploring new ways to engage with younger generations, expand educational opportunities, and support initiatives that promote long-term stability for families across the region. At the same time, we remain grounded in the values that have guided us from the beginning: integrity, generosity, and a deep sense of responsibility to the places we call home. Every event we host, every partnership we form, and every dollar we invest reflects our belief that strong communities are built through collective effort.
By continuing to show up, listen, and take action, we hope to play a meaningful role in shaping a future where every Alaskan has the opportunity to thrive.
